From two five week participation courses held in Warwickshire:

"Warwickshire County Council's Integrated Disability Service have engaged Sarah Lee on a number of occasions and have been very satisfied with the outcomes she has achieved. She listens well, adapts responsively to the clients needs and works collaboratively. 

She was able to develop and deliver a bespoke training course aimed at empowering parents and carers of disabled children and young people.

The course, which included working with groups of parents, ran for a number of weeks. Sarah was able to motivate, increase knowledge and skilfully engage attendees to discover their own confidence. I have no hesitation in recommending her to others."

Northamptonshire Parent Forum

“Improving Services, Empowering  families, Equality for all”

 

In March 2011, Sarah Lee from Solid Coaching  facilitated  three targeted workshops to set the vision, objectives and scope of where the participation of parents and carers of Northamptonshire wanted to progress to  furthering on from initial involvement in the Aiming High for Disabled Children agenda.

Sarah was able to see beneath the surface of the issues in Northamptonshire and realise with slight direction and input the foundations were there for a firmer approach to participation in its true sense. 15 parents attended over the 3 days with each session building on the last due to Sarah’s ability to move and be flexible in her approach to training thus ensuring the outcomes were what reflected Northamptonshire’s parents not her own agenda.

 

All of the resources used were of a professional and polished standard and the mix of activities suited the learning styles of the group. The mix of structured and informal activities gave the sessions a relaxed but meaningful quality and at the end of the three days, Northamptonshire along with Sarah’s support produced a plan of participation that has since been used to communicate the vision to the Local authority and health providers.
